Semi-Annual Dental Check-up
Most children and adults should see their dentist for a regular cleaning and check-up every six months. People at a greater risk for oral diseases should have dental check-ups more than twice a year. Tobacco and alcohol use, diabetes, pregnancy, periodontal disease, gingivitis, poor oral hygiene and certain medical conditions are some of the many factors that your dentist takes into consideration when deciding how often you need your dental cleaning and check-up.
Going to your regular check-ups will help to keep your gums and teeth healthy as well as detect any early problems such as gum disease, oral cancer and cavities. The best way to maintain good oral health is to visit your dentist on a regular basis.
Family dental encompasses many routine dental procedures such as:
Exams & Digital X-rays
CEREC offers our patients a one visit opportunity for crowns, veneers, onlays, and implant restorations. Through 3D imaging and milling, we can create a restoration while you sit in the chair the same day you come in. No more molds, multiple visits, temporaries etc. Come in and leave the same day with your beautiful and permanent crown in place.
Implants are the #1 treatment option for replacing single or multiple missing teeth. Implants more naturally mimic tooth appearance and function than any other available approach. They also allow patients to floss and brush their teeth just like their natural dentition. Implants are strong and most patients will take their implants with them to the grave. We place many implants here at Sutton Family Dentistry using a guided surgical approach. Many dentists and surgeons place implants free-handed without any guidance aid, but we utilize a 3-D X-ray guidance system so that our implants are in the right place every time…NO EXCEPTIONS!!! At Sutton Family Dentistry, we want to ensure that your dental needs are met with our best efforts, not simply what’s convenient or quick.
Treating children takes a special approach as well as a lot of patience. Luckily we have been able to hire multiple assistants that have worked in Pediatric dental offices in the past. In many cases, the assistants are the difference between a rocky appointment that could end in an inability to treat and a smooth and easy appointment for the child. We aim to start your children’s dental attitude off with smiles and simplicity. We want your child to feel excited and happy to come to the dentist, not dreading the visit like many of us do.
Emergencies don’t always crop up when it’s convenient. We know that and we make ourselves available any time you have a need. While we prefer to see our patients during normally scheduled hours, we have been known to be down taking care of a tooth broken during an accident or a swollen jaw at all hours of the day and night. Our answering service does an excellent job of making sure that you don’t have to wait all day to resolve your problem.
Although we don’t wish dentures on anyone, losing teeth is still a reality that we have to face. Full upper dentures can be fitted nicely and without major trouble over a long period of time. Lower dentures don’t have the same track record. At Sutton Family Dentistry, we don’t place lower dentures unless a patient is willing to undergo the placement of at least two dental implants, to secure the denture to the floor of the mouth. If it’s not something I’d be willing to wear in my own mouth, we simply don’t offer it. Please call for a consultation so that we can answer any of your questions on this matter.
Cosmetics encompasses more than just veneers. Whitening, space closure, orthodontics, even a cleaning can sometimes be cosmetic. Everything that makes your teeth look and feel beautiful and healthy is what we want to deliver.
